The yearly Annual General Meeting will be held on May 13th, 2025. This meeting includes the summary of the year, and elections for all positions for next school year. We have a number of positions open and will need parental support to help run the council for next year. The meeting will start at 6:30pm sharp and be held at the school. Please see the attached Agenda for more info on the meeting. Also, see the minutes
Ms. McCoag Retirement and Feedback:
As was announced last week, Ms. McCoag is retiring at the end of this school year. Last week you received an email with a link to provide feedback to the board about what you would like to see in the next principal of Fairview. Here is the link again: https://forms.office.com/r/0xd1j6JgL4?origin=lprLink
Fun Lunch Remainder of the Year:
This is to let you know that as of right now, there are NO more fun lunches for families to purchase. The Parent Council is looking to possibly do one more this year, but that is currently not set up. If we have one more lunch, we will let families know.
Next Year Registration:
As we plan for the 2025-26 school year, we need families to advise the school as to whether they are moving out of Fairview School. Only those families not planning on attending Fairview in the 2025-26 school year need to respond. Those families not planning on attending Fairview in the 2025-26 school year need to email the school at fairview@cbe.ab.ca with your students’ name, current grade and where they will be attending in the 2025-26 school year.
Students Praying at School
We sent out a note earlier this week with updated information about students accessing prayers during school time. We have attached that note to this email. Please click the link to update the information about prayers. Student Prayer Request Form

Please remember to drop off or pick up your students at the specified time. Late drop offs and pickups impact coaches practice time and personal time. Our coaches volunteer their time to provide your student with the opportunity to participate in athletics.
Extended Absences
All students missing 5 days or more must complete an Extended Absence form prior to their first day of absence. Parents must remember that they are responsible for the child completing the necessary schoolwork while they are away. Please print and submit the attached form if you are planning an extended absence. You can also google “Extended Absence Form CBE”.
Traffic Safety:
Please obey all posted traffic signs for drop off/pick-up and parking. Do not park in the city bus zone. For student safety do not U-turn at the crosswalks on Fairmount Drive.
Bussing Information:
We urge you to sign up for the appropriate bus tracking apps if you want more information. Unfortunately, at the school we do not have any additional access to information about bussing than you can get from the apps. Directions on how to register for the Southland and First Student Apps have been sent to parents. Currently, TransDev does not have an app that you can use. For TransDev, you can call the following number: 587-349-6652
Student Drop off and Pick Up
Please remember that our front doors do not open till 8:50am. The areas outside of the school are meant for drop and go. You should not be parking for any length time. Students are to be picked up promptly by 4:00pm. Should you be picking up your student at the end of the school day and need to advise the student of pick up, please do so before 3:30pm Monday to Thursday or 1:15pm on Fridays.
Sincerely,
