Fairview School – Weekly Update – March 10th to 14th
To streamline communication with families, moving forward, we will be posting a weekly message on Sunday evenings. You may still receive grade and/or event specific messages via School Messenger, D2L or Google Classroom.
Important Dates:
- March 14 – Fairview Friday
- March 20 – Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences 5pm – 8pm ONLINE
- March 21 – Student/parent/Teacher Conferences 9am – 2pm – ONLINE
- March 21 – March 30 – Spring Break
- March 31st-- First day back to school after Spring Break
Next Year Registration:
As we plan for the 2025-26 school year, we need families to advise the school as to whether they are moving out of Fairview School. Only those families not planning on attending Fairview in the 2025-26 school year need to respond. Those families not planning on attending Fairview in the 2025-26 school year need to email the school at fairview@cbe.ab.ca with your students’ name, current grade and where they will be attending in the 2025-26 school year.
Student/parent/teacher conferences
Booking for conferences is now open. Conferences are booked through your MYCBE Account and the link to your interviews are sent to the email attached to your MyCBE Account. If you need help registering or accessing your links, please use this link to help: CBE Conference Troubleshooting . Please remember, all conferences are ONLINE, you will receive an email link to the conference following booking. Please do not lost that email.
Alberta Assurance Survey
CBE sent an email to families with regards to the Alberta Assurance Survey. It would be appreciated if families could complete this survey. Families should receive codes from the CBE. The survey link is: Alberta Assurance Survey Link
Students Praying at School
Ramadan is being acknowledged by many of our families. Please remember that we have limited prayer space. We do our best to accommodate all students looking for a prayer space. Due to the time of the afternoon prayer, we will not be able to provide prayer space.
Athletics:
Reminder that students are not allowed to attend games unless a parent is there AND a sibling is playing. Please help us respect the buildings where our athletes play.
We ask that parents of players please pick up their students from practices and games on time. Teacher’s volunteer their time to coach your students so we ask that all be respectful of that time.
Fairview Parent Advisory Council Updates:

Extended Absences
All students missing 5 days or more must complete an Extended Absence form prior to their first day of absence. Parents must remember that they are responsible for the child completing the necessary schoolwork while they are away. Please print and submit the attached form if you are planning an extended absence. You can also google “Extended Absence Form CBE”.
Traffic Safety:
Please obey all posted traffic signs for drop off/pick-up and parking. Do not park in the city bus zone. For student safety do not U-turn at the crosswalks on Fairmount Drive.
Bussing Information:
Please continue to look for updates about bussing directly from bussing companies. Directions on how to register for the Southland and First Student Apps have been sent to parents. Currently, TransDev does not have an app that you can use. For TransDev, you can call the following number: 587-349-6652
Student Drop off and Pick Up
Please remember that our front doors do not open till 8:50am. The areas outside of the school are meant for drop and go. You should not be parking for any length time. Should you be picking up your student at the end of the school day and need to advise the student of pick up, please do so before 3:30pm Monday to Thursday or 1:15pm on Fridays.
