Fairview Weekly Update Dec. 15th to 19th

 

Spirit Week 

This week we will have a spirit week, with different themed dress days for students. Please see the attached PDF with information. Also, note that students that are not dressed in a theme can wear house colours instead. Students not in theme dress, or house colours should be in their informal uniform.  WINTER THEME DRESS UP DAYS 2025.pdf 

On Friday, it will be a fun day for students. There will not be regularly structured classes on that day.  

Dates 

Friday, the 19th is also the final day of school before the winter break. Students will return to school on January 5th. 

Bussing 

Please do not call the office in the morning looking for bus information. The office is often quite swamped, and we do not have any additional bus information than you do.  

All parents need to sign up for the app through: ww.mybusstop.ca . The code to register for Fairview Bussing is CBESD8GDT8.  

Winter Clothing 

We want to remind families that it is winter and students need to be dressed appropriately for outside weather. CBE Policy is for an indoor recess if weather colder than –20, so students can assume they will be outside at weather that is warmer than that. Additionally, students may spend 10-15 minutes outside after school for their buses, as we sometimes don’t know how long a bus will take. Students who are not dressed for outside may need to remain in the school.  

Extended Absences  

All students missing 5 days or more must complete an Extended Absence form prior to their first day of absence.  Parents/guardians must remember that they are responsible for the child completing the necessary school work while they are away. Please print and submit the attached form if you are planning an extended absence. You can also google “Extended Absence Form CBE”.  

Traffic Safety:  

Please obey all posted traffic signs for drop off/pick-up and parking.  Do not park in the city bus zone.  For student safety do not U-turn at the crosswalks on Fairmount Drive.
