Fairview School – Weekly Update – December 2-5, 2025
School Council
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming School Council meeting on December 9th 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, which will be held via TEAMS. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to engage with our school community and contribute to the enhancement of your child’s educational experience. Your involvement is essential, and we encourage all parents to participate. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our school community. The agenda and meeting link will be sent closer to the day. Be You Day – December 5, 2025
Be You Day – December 5, 2025
We are excited to introduce Be You Day, a new way to celebrate the unique identities, communities, and interests of our students! On Be You Day, students are invited to wear clothing that reflects who they are. This could include:
- Cultural clothing that is meaningful to them or their family
- Sports, dance, music, or other community interests
- Hobbies, fandoms, or personal passions
Our goal is to ensure that every student can participate meaningfully, whether their culture comes from heritage, activities, or personal interests. All attire should be school-appropriate and respectful. We look forward to seeing our students express themselves and celebrate their unique identities on Be You Day!
Photo Retakes
During our photo re-take session last week, the photographer experienced several system crashes and was unable to complete all student re-takes. If your child did not receive their re-take, you’re welcome to book an in-studio appointment. Please use the link below to schedule a time. Re-takes will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, between 12:00–3:00 p.m.

Vaccinations
Grade 6 vaccinations (along with a few ‘catch-up’ students) will be happening this Thursday, December 4, 2025 in our Learning Commons. Please ensure you’ve returned your student’s consent form.
Extended Absences
All students missing 5 days or more must complete an Extended Absence form prior to their first day of absence. Parents/guardians must remember that they are responsible for the child completing the necessary school work while they are away. Please print and submit the attached form if you are planning an extended absence. You can also google “Extended Absence Form CBE”.
Bussing
If your child takes bussing please be aware that the school does not have any additional information about the location of busses than what is found on the app. We request all parents please sign up for the app through: www.mybusstop.ca . The code to register for Fairview Bussing is CBESD8GDT8.
We are aware that bussing has been challenging early this year. Again, the school does not create or assign bus routes. Any concerns or questions should be directed to CBE Transportation. Their email is: transportation@cbe.ab.ca
Traffic Safety:
Please obey all posted traffic signs for drop off/pick-up and parking. Do not park in the city bus zone. For student safety do not U-turn at the crosswalks on Fairmount Drive.
Sincerely,
Fairview Admin
