Orange Shirt Day 


Fairview will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day Tuesday, September 29. Please remind your student to wear an orange shirt for the occasion. Orange Shirt Day is commemorated  on the same day as Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which is September 30th. This is a statutory holiday in Canada and there is no school on September 30. 

In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Week and in the spirit of the 2026 slogan "Taking Truth to Action," students and teachers at Fairview are engaging in learning activities that address different aspects of Indigenous knowledge, culture, and history throughout the week.   


School Council 


Thank you to those of you who joined us for our first school council meeting of the year. Please note the following dates for future school council meetings. All meetings will be from 6pm – 7pm and online, except for the AGM that will be held on May 11th which will be in person at Fairview School.

Drop-Off, Pick-Up and Traffic Etiquette 


Please remember to follow all traffic laws and bylaws and be respectful of our neighbours and one another during drop-off and pick-up. The area directly in front of the school is designated for quick drop-off only, so please do not park, wait, or leave your vehicle unattended in this area. Thank you for helping us keep traffic moving safely and smoothly. 


Inclement Weather 


Students will continue to go outside for lunch and PE unless there is heavy rain, temperatures are below -20°C, or air quality is poor. Please ensure your child comes prepared for the weather each day. This may mean raincoats and rain boots on wet days, or warm jackets, hats and mittens when temperatures drop! 

Away for the Day Cell Phone Policy 

Reminder that students are expected to keep their cell phones in their locker at all times of the school day. This includes smartwatches, gaming devices, and earbuds/Bluetooth devices.

Healthy Hunger 

Healthy Hunger is supported and run by our Parent Advisory Council. The restaurants and dates have been posted and you are now able to prepurchase Healthy Hunger meals for your student(s). If you do not currently have a Healthy Hunger account, you can set one up through the following link: 

https://healthyhunger.ca/ 

If you prepurchase a meal and your student is absent that day, you can call the school on the day of the event, before 10:00 am, to arrange for pickup at the office. If you cannot pick the meal up by the end of the day, it will not be refrigerated and will be thrown out. Any meals without an alternate pickup arrangement by 10:00 am will be given to students who need lunch.
