Meet the Teacher 


Fairview will be hosting their Meet the Teacher evening on September 17th, 2026. See the details below. 

  • Meet the teacher will start at 6:30pm and end at 7:30pm for grades 4-9.  
  • Grade 9 will have an optional High School Information session from 6:00-6:30. This is not Meet the Teacher but will provide basic information about High School.  
  • Each Grade will offer two sessions. This is to help families with students in multiple grades. Each of the sessions will be the same. There is no need to attend both.  
  • Grades 5, 7, 9 Session 1: 6:30; Session 2 7:00 
  • Grades 4, 6, 8 Session 1: 6:45; Session 2 7:15 

 

School Council 


We are excited to invite you to our first School Council Meeting on September 23rd, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, held in person at the school. School councils play an important advisory role, ensuring that parent and community perspectives are reflected in school decision-making. They also help share information about the school with the wider community. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved and have a voice in your child’s educational experience. We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd. 


Drop-Off, Pick-Up and Traffic Etiquette 


Please remember to follow all traffic laws and bylaws and be respectful of our neighbours and one another during drop-off and pick-up. The area directly in front of the school is designated for quick drop-off only, so please do not park, wait, or leave your vehicle unattended in this area. Thank you for helping us keep traffic moving safely and smoothly. 


Inclement Weather 


Students will continue to go outside for lunch and PE unless there is heavy rain, temperatures are below -20°C, or air quality is poor. Please ensure your child comes prepared for the weather each day. This may mean raincoats and rain boots on wet days, or warm jackets, hats and mittens when temperatures drop! 

Away for the Day Cell Phone Policy 


Reminder that students are expected to keep their cell phones in their locker at all times of the school day. This includes smartwatches, gaming devices, and earbuds/Bluetooth devices.

Upcoming Events 


Photo Day 


LifeTouch will be at Fairview School on September 28 to take our school photos. Since it falls on a Monday, students are expected to be in their formal uniform. 


Healthy Hunger 


Healthy Hunger is supported and run by our Parent Advisory Council. The restaurants and dates have been posted and you are now able to prepurchase Healthy Hunger meals for your student(s). If you prepurchase a meal and your student is absent that day, you can call the school on the day of the event, before 10:00 am, to arrange for pickup at the office. If you cannot pick the meal up by the end of the day, it will not be refrigerated and will be thrown out. Any meals without an alternate pickup arrangement by 10:00 am will be given to students who need lunch.
