Weekly Message - June 22-26, 2026
Students Returning
Please let the office know as soon as possible if your child is not returning to Fairview next year. This allows us to contact additional lottery families if needed and plan for teaching and learning. Please send an email to fairview@cbe.ab.ca if your child is not returning.
Next Year Busing
Pre-registration for busing for the 2026-2027 school year is available through “School Fees and Forms” within MyCBE Accounts. The deadline for pre-registration was June 14, 2026. If you missed the deadline, we encourage you to still register. If you wait too long, it is possible that your student may not be placed on a bus for up to 6-8 weeks into the new school year.

Used Uniform Sale
The used uniform sale will be held on Monday, June 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., while supplies last.
If you would like to purchase a new uniform, McCarthy Uniforms will remain open throughout the summer. Please access their website at www.mccarthyuniforms.ca for a listing of their hours of operation.
Activity Day
Our annual Activity Day will occur on Thursday, June 25. Students will be outside for the day, so please ensure they are dressed appropriately. We recommend they wear sunscreen and a hat and carry a water bottle with them. There will be food trucks on-site to provide students with a variety of food choices. If you would like your student to have an opportunity to purchase something from the food trucks, please ensure you send them with some spending money.
Yearbooks
Yearbooks will be handed out on the last day of school. We currently have a waiting list for the purchase of extra copies; however, we do not have enough to provide every student on the list with a copy. If you have previously requested to be placed on the waiting list, Ms. Prevost will contact you if she is able to secure a copy for your student. Please do not call the school to be placed on the waiting list, as there are not enough copies for the students who are currently on the list.
Report Cards
Report cards will be available for viewing or downloading from June 25 until July 31, 2026. If you would like a copy of your student’s report card, please ensure you access your MyCBE account prior to August 1.
Class Size Reduction Grant
We are pleased to inform you that our school has been allocated 2 additional teaching position(s) for the 2026–27 school year through the Government of Alberta’s Class Size Reduction Grant.
This grant funds teaching positions that support improved learning conditions in kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms.
This funding is specifically intended to help reduce class sizes in core subject areas (English Language Arts/French Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), with priority given to schools experiencing the greatest class size pressures.
This decision was made using system-wide data that considers:
- The number of classes exceeding provincial class size benchmarks
- Projected enrolment and class organization
- School programming and grade configuration
Our goal is to ensure students benefit from:
- Increased teacher attention
- Improved classroom learning environments
- Greater support for diverse learning needs
We remain committed to supporting strong learning environments for all students and using our resources thoughtfully and strategically.
Principal's Message
As we reach the end of the school year, I find myself reflecting on what an incredible first year it has been at Fairview. From my very first days in the building, I was welcomed with warmth, kindness, and support by students, staff, and families. Thank you for making me feel so at home and for helping make my first year as Principal such a rewarding and memorable experience.
Throughout the year, I have had the opportunity to witness the many things that make Fairview special. The dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm and resilience of our students, and the strong partnerships we share with families. It has been a joy to be part of this community, and I am grateful for the trust and support you have shown me.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to Mike Ross for his leadership and collaboration throughout the year. Mike has been an invaluable partner, and our school has benefited greatly from his commitment to supporting students and staff. While we will miss seeing him at Fairview each day, I am thrilled for him as he takes on his new role as Principal next year. We wish him all the best as he begins this exciting new chapter.
As you head into summer, I hope you have time to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories with those you care about. Thank you for a wonderful year. I am already looking forward to welcoming everyone back on August 31 and beginning another year of learning, growth, and success together.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer.
