FAIRVIEW PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL CASINO AT DEERFOOT CASINO JUNE 8TH AND 9TH 2026

Fairview School Council Casino Fundraiser- We Need You! NO Experience Necessary

This is the most important fundraising event organized by the Fairview Parent Advisory Council to financially support Fairview School and our students. The funds raised directly benefit every student in our school community. Without enough volunteers, we will not be able to participate in this event, which would significantly impact the programs and opportunities we are able to provide.

We welcome parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and family members to volunteer — no police clearance is required for this event. Volunteers will be provided with non-alcoholic beverages and a meal during their shift.

This fundraiser plays a vital role in supporting our school, and we truly appreciate your time and commitment. Together, we can continue to provide meaningful opportunities for our students.

Thank you for supporting Fairview School!

Learn and Share – School Planning

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we’ll be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives.

During this engagement, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Learn About
  • School planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget and school fees
  • How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
  • How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
  • School fees and why they are necessary

  1. Participate
  • Participate in our School Councial meeting on March 10th at 6:30pm at Fairview School to learn more about school planning. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback at this meeting.

Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.

We’ll send you a link to the survey, our school development plan and school budget and fees information when it’s available. We will also post it on our school website.

Our parent teacher interview booking portal opens on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Our interviews will be held in person on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 5pm-8pm. We ask that you don’t book back-to-back interviews with different teachers. Please leave some time between bookings to ensure you can get to your interviews in a timely manner.

Interviews on March 20, 2026 will be online and run from 9:00am-2pm. You will receive a links for your interviews.

Parents may book up to 2 time slots/teacher. However, we do have limited bookings, so please only do so if your student is on an IPP or you feel you need additional time to discuss concerns. Please be mindful of other parents who need to book.

Leaving Fairview?

The lottery process has now begun. We are accepting new registrations and expressions of interest for the upcoming 2026–27 school year.

To help us offer as many spaces as possible during the lottery draw on February 20, 2026, we are asking for your assistance. If you know that your student will not be attending Fairview next year, please email the school to let us know. This will allow us to offer the space to another student.

Please email fairview@cbe.ab.ca and include:

  • Your student’s name
  • Current grade
  • The school they will be attending next year

(This information is not required for students who will be transitioning from Fairview to high school.)

Extended Absences

All students missing 5 days or more must complete an Extended Absence form prior to their first day of absence.  Parents/guardians must remember that they are responsible for the child completing the necessary schoolwork while they are away. Please print and submit the form found on the link below if you are planning an extended absence. You can also google “Extended Absence Form CBE”.
